Karen is a certified athletic trainer and personal trainer who specializes in a unique style of personal training. With passion and energy, she teaches clients that it is not just about losing weight or gaining strength, but it is also about ensuring that your joints, bones, and muscles function and feel at their best.
With experience in sports injury assessment, evaluation, and basic rehabilitation, Karen has an edge over other industry professionals. Furthermore, Karen can help you recover from past or current injuries by filling in the common gap between fitness and therapy.
Karen Tanner Byrd received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Taylor University. She completed her two undergraduate internships. The first internship was at Revisions Fitness Center, the fitness/wellness facility for Leo Burnett employees in downtown Chicago. The second internship was at Rehabworks – a program providing all Kennedy Space Center employees a free on-site rehabilitation program. Immediately after graduation, Karen entered the Fisher Institute for Wellness and Gerontology at Ball State University thus receiving her Master of Arts in Wellness Management.
